Nico Maffey is the co-founder and CEO of Sequencer, an AI-native platform that enables studios, agencies, and creators to produce cinematic content using generative AI within structured production workflows. The company reflects Nico’s career at the intersection of entertainment, technology, and public policy, combining his experience in storytelling, AI, and digital transformation to build infrastructure for the next generation of AI-native media production.

Originally from Argentina, Nico began his professional career as a performing artist, which led him to some of the world’s most recognized stages. He was the main character in Toruk – The First Flight, a Cirque du Soleil production co-produced with filmmaker James Cameron that earned a Guinness World Record as the highest-grossing arena touring show in 2017. He also appeared as an actor in the Tony Award–winning Broadway revival of Pippin and performed in productions including Nutcracker Rouge. His performances have included appearances at the Metropolitan Opera and Berlin’s Wintergarten Varieté. In 2015 he was named U.S. Aerial Champion. His artistic work has been featured in outlets including The New York Times, The New York Post, Fox News, and other international media.

After receiving his BA from Harvard College and his MPA/ID from Harvard Kennedy School, Nico was selected as a Young Professional at the World Bank, where he worked on digital development initiatives. He later worked on policy and innovation programs with the Inter-American Development Bank and with the Argentine government. His research and commentary on technology, economic development, and public policy have appeared in outlets such as The Economist, Forbes, and Harvard Kennedy School Review.

Nico has also worked at the intersection of enterprise technology, strategy, and artificial intelligence. He was a consultant in the McKinsey’s Digital practice, served as a Solution Manager at C3 AI, and worked as an analyst at Goldman Sachs. Across these roles, he supported Fortune 500 organizations—including leading media companies—on technology strategy, digital transformation, and AI deployments. He was also a fellow with Alumni Ventures and the Venture Institute, where he focused on early-stage investing and technology-driven entrepreneurship.
